Putting directionals on the wrong side...

I have a set of those nasty turbine spoked rims that came on the 89 lx-i four doors. They are supposedly side specific. I wanna use one of them for a SPARE tire/rim. What would it hurt (if anything) if I HAD to put a right rim on the left side (or vice versa) for a minute?? Is it just looks or would there be a problem functionally with a directional rim on the wrong side?? I know i could just change two tires if I had a flat on the wrong side, but I'm simple...

directional TIRES will cause problems, directional RIMS won't.

its just a style thing, not a functional thing, unless you get directional tires

That's what I was hoping for!! I just have the directional rims; I'll just get a decent used tire and hope I never need to use it!!
