Strut bars, custom made just for you!

Ok. Seeing as it's pretty hard to find a strut bar out there for your car for a decent price I decided that I'll make them. Would any of you be interested in buying one? Here's the one we made for my cousin's civic. It would be the same style, craftmanship, and material.

Sorry that I don't have a good pic of it, I'll take some new pics tomorrow of it. Nothing fancy, but it does work. I'm sure I could talk him into making a few of them if there's interest.
Before I do all of this I need to know if there's a difference in how the strut bars would be made for the different years and motors of our cars....
I would make the pattern off of my 88 LXi and then make a few of them, but are the 86-87s different, how about for the carbed bunch?
And now for the interested people. How much would you be willing to pay for one? We could probably do the rear bar too and if you bought both you could get a small discount. But for now, we're just talking about the front one, what's a fair price?
We could even powdercoat them for a little bit extra for those interested. Colors are limited and I would have to check to see what colors we have first.
    Thanx for the input.

Nice work! I'd be interested, but I think the problem with the carb is that there isn't enough clearance with the air box. I could be wrong though. I haven't actually measured anything, but I just always assumed that was the case. Anyway, I think anywhere inbetween $75-$125 would be a fair price, although I have no idea how much/how hard they are to make. I just know Justin's rear strut bars went for around $75 and I've seen the DC sports front ones go for around $150 on ebay.

damn thats a nice civic, ur friends got some good mods. i would be interested in one but i just bought one for the crx the other day, and the 3rd gen is carb with the new CAI civic intake mod, so there is no clearance what so ever. but keep up the good work.

ok this question is a bit noob, but what does a strut bar do? hey, unless you ask you'll never know. is it to help "brace" the engine bay or something? thanks, wanted to know.

it stiffens your chassis so when u take tight turns your car won't look like this \__\ and will look like this |__|, the way it's supposed to be, basically it's for better handling

Not to be mean or anything, this does not belong in this section. It's a post about selling or checking interest, it belongs in the market place. Joe could you please move this and delet this post I just made.

So you're saying my $75 for making strut bars for our 3GEEZ is outragous?

And that fact that I am donating some of the money to the website.

I'm the one donating to the website. I'm not going to try to compete. People will know where to go if they want their website to keep running. Except I'm going to be also selling other things too, so I'm not worried. I already have a group buy done. Why is there all this competition with me? Justin didn't have to do this.

I agree with mike. He had the idea first and actually is donating. Mikes strut bars look a little cleaner on the bends and stuff too. But you always need some competition.

yeah well i dont want mike starting a monopoly here. sure now he charges $75 but soon he realizes he owns the 3rd gen strut world and he charges $200. and us 3 geez have no where else to turn to we just keep dishing him more and more money. the he makes upgrades and if we dont upgrade our cars will jack up and go slower. plus they might get hacked, i mean stolen. then he makes a super tight strut bar and everyone is like yes finally but before it will work you have to buy updates, i mean upgrades. damn you Bill Gates!!! i mean Mike!!!

sorry, I wasn't aware that you were selling strut bars as well. I can't say that your price is outrageous since I haven't seen them for under $125 anywhere else. So you are $50 below everyone else, that's a great deal. I'm not here to try and make competition, just adding some more parts to the community.
And I would be happy to donate a percentage to 3geez.com since I would be using this site and it's members to make money.

I'm not in this to make money though. And I won't have a monopoly. Actually I was talking with Shepherd and I was going to come down in price.
