accord's trunk cannot close...any idea?

Hi all,

My accord 88's trunk cannot close. When I slam it down, it would just stay open. I check the positioning, and it seems correct. I have no idea how to fix this problem... Any idea?

sounds like the trunk lock is in the closed position,
put the key in a turn it, open the lock and try again.

why do people slam there trunks... you're just asking to break the lock... also check the height of the "U" hook that the lock grabs on to... since all that slamming sometimes pushes it down and the lock can no longer latch on.

It's easy to adjust... just get a 10mm socket and loosen the 2 bolts then raise the hook slightly.

Thanks, that last idea works. I adjusted the nuts and it seems to work fine now.
