stupid oil pan
I would recommend that any trying to replace their own, stop and take it to a shop. I took all bolts off, downpipe, dust shield, and the thing still would not budge after 15 minutes of kicking it with the bottom of my foot I gave up this thing will not come loose.

try a rubber mallet because youre foot may damage it. The gasket can become siezed between the pan and the bottom of the engine block, so you could also try a pry bar to CAREFULLY separate them. If you dent either of the edges you will have some trouble with leaks in the future.
Sounds like a good idea jlaccord. Listen to jlaccord, if you decide to try and pry it be very careful.
Based on my similar experience with a valve cover, if it's been on awhile, a varnish has formed and is acting like glue. Warm it up and it should come off.
screw it, I found a place that would do it for $115 if I get the gasket, oil, and other stuff needed. so this is what i'll do.

Yeah, I paid about $140 a few months ago and got the whole thing done. Still felt weird to me since I have done everything myself on the car for 14 years. This particular Honda shop did such nice and neat work that it could make me lazy. I had them replace the P/S rack and both drive axles last week. Now I realize how much money I have saved over the years doing all the work myself. For some things, though, a lift and the proper tools makes all the difference.
Here's a tip surely to work:
Stick a metal pipe into the old oil pan( You dont have to go far, careful not to damage anything inside from the engine above!). Use that to pry the old one off. This will surely help you get that old rusted oil pan off. This works for me, and it took only a few tries.

Damn, It took me like a few hours to pry mine off. It was not a fun day. Too bad I'm not old enough to drink beer.

'86 Accord LX 5spd > Bought for a hundred bucks.....Canadian. Leaks oil, has lots of rust, and is about 5 different shades of green.
Mods: True ram intake, K&N, vacuum line removal conversion, 14" aluminum wheels, $20 cd player, $20 speakers, dual barrel air horn.
I just use a big ass rubber mallet to "tap" around the edges til it breaks loose
mine popped right off. the only problem i had was getting the rubber gasget off it was stuck like you wouldnt believe
my oil pan was there for good. i had to use long try bar and some force.

No way I was about to do it myself thanks for saving me the headachelame post I know but I'm pissed!

By the way why did you remove your oil pan?
I need to change mine out because after stripping the bolt I tried to remove it by drilling out the washer to get somthing behind the bolt so that it would come out, but after removing it I noticed my little drill bit went onto pan creating a small channel wear oil leaks out.
My oil pan came off easy......because my whole engine was out of my car for the five speed swap. Sure was nice sitting in a chair and not laying on my back under my car! You guys make it seem so hard when it's not.
Hey bite size how much did it end up costing you to do the 5 speed swap and now that its done is evertything running properly? Thanks
