Well today I learned that brakes can be a engine performance upgrade. I put new pads, rotors and a new caliper on my drivers side. Well today I went out for a test run, and jeez my car feels like its a rocket! The problem was the caliper was so frozen that it was pressing the pads into the rotor constantly. Hills I would have to downshift into third and between shifts I would loose speed! I didnt think calipers could get that frozen. The caliper was supposed to slide off of the bolt easily but I had to beat it for a good 5 minutes with a hammer to get it off! Ive never beat it that hard before!
New caliper was $52.00 but with a core, it took off $25.
New rotors were $12 each..
New pads..were like $19..
Screw the high performance stuff, im driving a 98 HP accord, and I drive relatively slow most of the time...im happy it works again...and man my car flies compared to what it used to. Im sure I can run a 20 secord 1/4 mile now instead of a 22 second one!
So happy it works! Caliper replacement is a breeze
