Exclamation Exhaust System 4 - 2 Dual Exhaust

Hey you guys, got a biiiiiig question to ask. Has anyone done a 4 into 2 set-up??? And is it legal to have something like that??? or does it have to come together into one pipe like the 4-2-1???

Cause what I want to do is do a dual exhaust set-up conversion on my LX. Not sure if it is possible.

Oh by the way, the pipes wont be straight like that, its gonna look like a single pipe but dual. {|} kinda like that but without the points

i think SEI coupes had dual exhaust system. the problem is that you will lose all low torque. it is not worth it. it is good for the show, but it is not worth it unless you have dual turbo on your car.

SEi coupes did not have a dual exhaust system... they had dual tipped mufflers... dual exhaust systems on 4 cyl. cars is basically useless because we dont make enuff power. if you do want dual exhaust, check out a dual outlet kit from Vibrant for 88-91 Civic's and 95+ Dogge Neon's.. they also make a dual outlet muffler with out the tips so you can choose your own... i cant find a part number for you, but look around, i know its in a catalogue i have

yeah dont bother. it will be expensive to do, and with the money u save you could buy headers and cold air intake and cat, and a catback 2.25 exhuast. then you will be a lot happier!

yeah, if you do end up doing a duel set up make the split at the back of the car or right after the cat.

If you want dual exhaust what you need to do is run a single pipe back to the gas tank. then have a Y junction and run dual pipe off to each side of the back.

Or just get a stock muffler from the junkyard and duct tape it to the other side of your bumper then hammer some $4 tips from Advance in because you are a fucking RICEBOY. If you want a FUNCTIONAL dual exhaust though, all you have to do is buy a V8 domestic.

Spend the money and get a header... but if you really want dual exhaust don't go larger then 2" (in fact 1.75" might be better for duals) and run the pipes more like this.

    He said "I think"

    Not a statement of fact.

We pick our moderators cause they are well rounded on their knowledge (plus other things to), not because were crazy enough to think they're supposed to know 100% or everything.
I know I don't. When I went to gas up my new car for the first time. I could not figure out how to open the fuel door. I had to drive home and open up the owner's manuel. (And no it does not have a key hole on it and no release on the inside of any kind).

I think that would be the best set up, That X-pipe should give you that low end. and anything bigger then said above. You would have like absolutly NO Back pressure. But That Exaust is some Serious Custom Work, and If I remember Correctly, are Cars dont have the much room for all that piping. If your going this Crazy with the Exaust Make it As Straight as possible.

Sitting here thinking, what funny creative way can I say something here and now, about the above.

Oh heck. You've GOT to find a new way to vent your frustrations other than viloating the member conduct rules. Just think a little harder and you can say what you want without eventually getting yourself a one way ticket on "BAN" airways. PLEASE work on it.

I've found it hard to compare domestics with imports... for one the displacement difference, why do people still compare V8's with inline 4's... it's stupid... it's like saying my double cheese burger has more cheese then your single cheese burger... duh.

yes, Power to Weight. If I REALLY wanted to be an all out Dragester. It would have to be Domestic. BUT it would be a 1972 Chevelle SS, with a 454 or 502. Twin Turbos. No one makes a Turbo kit for Big Blocks. And I want to do it. It would cost ALOT of money, and The Ignition would have to be beefed up.

I want to convert it to FI not keep it Carbed. with this

    With some SERRIOUS beefy injectors.

But I want to do it so badly. Im going to do it when My butcher shop takes off.
