Car dies in Drive or Reverse!

ok well we have been workin on the 88 LX we got, well we replaced the engine went through 2 carbs and it gots a problem, The car starts fine, revs fine, but when put in reverse or drive it shakes violantly and turns off. we think its a loose or ripped vacuum hose. are there any vital hoses that we should check?

we already adjusted the idle screw

Check the vacuum lines mentioned in the thread above.

And check you battery connections

you entire ignition system

and ground wires.

Did you check for missing ground wires?

there are 2 main ones (besides the one from the battery post)... the one to the radiator support from the valve cover and the other one is from a wire harness near the starter and it connects to the thermostat housing.
