Hello everyone!
At cosco the 5w50 castrol oil is (29$ canadian) for 6 pack of 1liters each. Can we use this oil in our small engine like a 1.5 liter and 2 liter engine. Because its seem very thick??? Its dangerous??
I dont have anymore money to throw on amsoil and mobile about 7$ the liter.

yeah a 5w start is good if it's very cold
I've run with a 20w cold 50w hot weight and I nottice very little lag unless it's real cold out and then the 20 starting weight makes the engine a bit tight and hard to idle.
But overall 50 is fine... if the weather is hot or you intend to push your motor hard. if not stick with the 10 or 15w - 40.
straight 60 weight flat out seems like you are running sand between the bearings untill it heats up.
