Arrow Question about Koni Reds and Tokico Illuminas

Well, I was planning on lowering my car a few months back, but I ended up buying stereo equipment instead. Now I am going to drop it, but I have a question about the Konis. I talked w/ a factory rep today and he told me TWICE on 2 seperate calls that the Koni reds made for our cars are NOT adustable.
I am looking to drop my car, but I dont want to get a non-adjustable shock.

My second question is: has anyone purchased Tokico Illuminas? these ARE NOT the regular tokico shocks, they are their performance line of shocks, and they do have them for the 3g. I checked w/ the factory on these and they for certain are adjustable. Has anyone from this site used the Illumina series before? and how do they compare w/ Konis? (Illuminas are nearly twice the cost of the Konis).

The konis are adjustable for rebound only, so they are not fully adjustable, but that's more than you'll get with any other strut. You can also "adjust" the perch by just flipping it when you put it on the strut. This will give you about .25 inch lower drop (i think). As to the tokico illuminas, they are not made for our car and other cars' struts will not swap to ours. Your best bet is to either find a set of konis, or at least get the front pair and run tokico blues in the back, or, depending on your budget, buy the bilstein struts and have them revalved (expensive). The other choice is to do what I'm doing : buy tokico blues for all 4 corners; not the ideal solution, but you can live with it--the front bounces a bit but the back is ok. See what your budget permits and then go from there. But do as much as you can upfront so you're not swapping struts a year down the line like I had to!! It's chepaer to do it right the first time!! Also, when you're done make sure to get an alignment.

You can't get Koni's for the rear anymore. You might be able to get them with some deep digging. My order for the rears from Tirerack was cancelled because they couldn't get them. I even called Koni to see if they had any in a warehouse somewhere to no avail. The front ones are still available though but you better hurry.

Ok.... So I talked with the factory rep again, and he told me that Illuminas are NOT made for our cars. The only reason he said they were, is because they WERE listed in the inventory, but apparently it was a mistake! As for the Konis, they are super rare, so I am gonna have a blanket search done accross several dealerships and warehouses, to get all 4, and if we still cant find em, Im gonna go with revalved Bilstiens.
