    Crazy Carbs

I seem to have a common problem with my engine racing between shifts or high speed idle. I notice that if I stick my foot under the the accelerator and pull up the idle slows to normal. I only notice one control line on my carb so I don't quite understand whats happening here. I looked at the pedal linkage and there is indeed a second cable. Can someone have a look down there and enlighten me. If I lube the crap out of the carb linkage I can get it working normally for a few days. I think the throttle is binding somewhere through the body.

ok, if you lift up the gas pedal and your car is idling fine, that is your accelerator cable to TV cable.
it is probably gas pedal cable.
gas pedal cable is comming from the front of the engine and TV cable from the back of the carb.
    you need to adjust them.

OK dude, the reason why there are two lines, is:
#1 cruise control (if you still have it in there, if not dunno :lol )
    #2 carb. cable

one of these lines may be a little tight. if its your carb cable loosen it up a bit. if its the cruise control cable that is too tight, you might have to go in the engine bay, and look at the unit itself and look for an adjustment screw.

    Good luck, hope this helps.
