    Talking Koni struts

Well I orderd some Koni struts today at tirerack. They still have some left. The fronts are on back order so it won't be untill mid November until they show up. They have a low stock in the rears so it might take a week to ship. Get them while they last.

Yeah, I got the shaft. I've waiting on the fronts too. They gave me the same time frame. However, rears are gone forever.

No, something's not right. When I confirmed Koni was discontinueing the strut he told me the wherehoulse suppy was at 40 whole car sets (40 fronts-40 rears). But he said they had a whole bunch of rear sets over the 40 whole car sets.

Someone needs to confirm with gordon the current inventory of rears.

This may be a case of tirerack not wanting to get stuck with rears only and feeling they don't want that, so they don't take the risk of only ordering rears, with no fronts to match.

I called Koni and the person on the phone said there were none available. I asked if there were any more left in stock that I could get and they said no and a bunch of orders for them were canceled. Does anyone know the extension for this Gordon guy so I can get a hold of him? If they are out, Jim, can you check my other thread about rear struts.

I just replied to that thread.

Gordon's phone number (I don't have a extension, I just ask for Gordon and I alway's get him) is 1-859-586-4100

On your comments that about how you called and they said none were available. I would say maybe that person wasn't really willing to check the european stock's where Koni is pulling from. But saying that a bunch of orders were canceled, that really worries me. What if their inventory computer was off and they found out they really didn't have as many as they thought they had. I'd call Gordon and ask him to check and tell him you heard that they had been pulling the struts out of a european wherehouse and are their any still in that wherehouse.

Another thought, what if they suddenly decided that shipping them from europe to here is to expensive and stopped doing that?

I don't have any parts left, sorry. I had commitments for every single performance part I had when I first parted out my car within 24hours. And pretty much everyone of those commitments actually bought. Good stuff, priced fair, sells very fast here. Priced wrong,.......good luck.

ey guys, I found a Koni dealer and I need to know how these struts are. are they like the other guys that has shocks that more or less makes it look like they put metal bars as shocks(you know, they hit a bump and they sit there and bounce around hard), or are they good for performance. I even found(with the same dealer) tokico shocks, how do these relate????

    Please reply....

Are you going to be running lowering springs? I don't think that using Koni struts with stock springs will really do anything. Performance struts are valved differently to control a stiffer spring. I may be wrong so Jim or someone, help out.

That all depends on what type of ride you want. Check the other thread that tells you how much stiffer each spring available is for the car. Koni struts are the best ones but I don't know if you'll be able to get them. The next best thing would have to be revalved Bilsteins.

GET THE KONIS!!! You will not be sorry...no matter what springs you decide on I love mine, on my H&Rs. Some people don't think it's low enough, but I like it. It's still high enough that I don't scrape everywhere, which is nice.

OK I'm lost again, Tirerack is now showing the fronts as special order and the rears with an estimated avail date of late Oct. Those guys need to lay off the pipe and get their chit together. One day there est avail of late Oct for the fronts, then they tell ya thats a good guesstament, then they cancel orders now they list as "special" order

I e-mailed Gordon at Koni. The rear struts are no longer available. They've all been sold. I'm not sure what the status of the fronts is but Tirerack hasn't cancelled my order for those so I hope they still come.

When I orderd mine they showed that the fronts wouldn't be in until Oct and that the rears were in low stock.
