well, IMO, ABS is annoying... if you're having a problem with locking up your wheels, try stickier tires and a less agressive foot... learn to feel where the lockup point is and you won't need ABS...

Lockup point and my abbility to feel it depends on road conditions, weather, what shoes I'm wearing... I'd much rather rely on a dependable ABS system then my feel. No way can an anti-lock system be outperformed by a comparable regular system.Originally Posted by Vanilla Sky
BTW, this thread would confirm that Legend calipers can be used on 88-89 LXi/SEi knuckles:

very true, but ABS systems are very complicated... i'm sure you can make it work, but don't be surprised if it would cost 50 times more than a car with ABS...
the most of us here aren't worried about ABS, that's why it's never talked about...
and if you want ABS for a 3gee, import a 3gee parts car that was equipped with the ALB system... no matter which way you go with ABS, you need a parts car to work with...
My old 3g Accord had ALB, and I dont think you would want to start swapping the ALB system from one car to another..
I have a 91 Legend coupe I could use for parts, so one more reason for me to prefer ALB over big rotors.Originally Posted by Vanilla Sky
How about rear spindles all together with rotors from another car instead of the rare SEi? This thread https://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?...ghlight=legend makes note of a bunch of cars with supposedly all the same brakes. "90-93 INTEGRA, 86-90 LEGEND, 89 ACCORD COUPE SEI, 88-89 ACCORD SEDAN LXI/SEI,90-93 CIVIC EX, 88-91 PRELUDE SE/SI cars have the same brakes"
Would rear spindle of any of those cars fit? Spindle and upper/lower arms? Prelude maybe? Manufacturers all standardize parts across platforms to minimize manufacturing cost so I wouldn't be surprised. I have universal 4 lug wheels, so to me personally that isn't an issue and I'd switch to 5 lug too if I can get ALB.
What this thread is talking about: 4th gen suspension parts measure almost identical

well hell, since you have the legend parts car, go for that...
the reason we haven't confirmed the rear brakes spindle is because we are all on tight budgets, and buying spindles isn't cheap... if one of us had a good bit of time and access to a junkyard, we could do it there, but working in a junkyard is usually pretty miserable...
Im in Knoxville if you every need anything. I dont have many parts but we can make a run to Evans sometime and pickup what we need.
I also have access to a Bridgeport mill and a lathe if needed.
I always called our rotors 10.3"
Summit Racing used to sell ABS type things for older brake systems. It went inline after the MC they were maybe $150 or so a side. It was somekinda mechanical device that would pulse the brakes. Been a while ince I seen it in there cat. you can call them.

Only problem is the Legend doesnt use a 4x100 bolt patern.
The 86-87 Legend rear suspension is completely different so dont bother loking at those.

Also, we can use the 4gen prelude vtec "280mm" calipers and rotors if we redrill the rotors!
