2.5" exh. w/burnt Ti. muffler, bosch plat.4 plugs & wires, weapon r intake, halo head lights, 6.5" pioneers & a alpine 12" Type-R, fosegate amp, JDM smokey corners, short shifter & 17s in falken RT-615's (oh and i have a 88 LX-i now i wrecked my 89 DX)
I think it's 7", but 7.5" might work. What width tire were you planning use? Up to 205 works for offsets from 40-45 mm. 215 tread width requires 45 mm offset not to rub.

i can get the rims im buying in 7" but i was almost considering 8.5 lol but then i got to thinking after i looked at my car, but good stuff

I had 16X7.5 rims on my first accord and the tire rubbed a bit but i want to say i had 225's on there possibly 215's because i dont know what the offset was. Right now i have 17X7 with 205's and a 43mm offset and its fine.
i have 17x 7.5" an i'm dropped 2.5" all the way round. my tires are 17-205-40
no rubbing in the front at all.
I rolled my fenders in the back and now there's no rubbin back there either...
I have 16x7.5 with 205 40 16s. The offset on my rims is only 35 or 38, so I had to roll the rear fenders since with two passengers it rubbed. However, with new struts in the back, the rear end raised up a bit, so I'm going to try running 205/45 16s. You should be more concerned with tire size than rim width.

I'm glad this got brought up cause I want to get some bigger tread down there. I want to run some 17x8. I'm wanting to do an engine build up but I need more tread to put the power to the ground.![]()
I'm your local R&D nut. Fabracting, welding, tuning and breaking my stuff so you don't have to.
i acually wanted some 18x8's with like 225 or 215, would that work at all or would i have to cut the fender or anything, can i at least make something like that work?

you could roll the fenders, then it might work, i have 17's on my car and i had to roll the fenders to drop it 2 3/4 in the back and 3" in the front. so 18's im thinking would probably rub quite a bit even if you did roll the fenders
worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but gets you nowhere
You can't run a tire wide enough that "needs" a 8" rim.Originally posted by Justin86

Being that 215mm should be considered the max tire width on 45mm offset, 7" wide rims is the most you'll ever need. Additionally, try and run a 225 wide tire and you get into run tires that are taller than oem. That cause's three problems. One, any tire that is taller than oem move's the tire edge closer to any area that would be likely to rub, making matter worse. Two, taller than oem is like running taller gearing, sapping what little power you have making the car slower. Plus your speedo will be off. 3. Any time someone tries to run wider than 215, they always have rubbing issue's, if it can rub anywhere in the suspension entire travel range, not just normal driving, but from sitting on the bump stops to full ride height or while turn the steering wheel, it's NOT a width you can run. Has to pass that test. I've seen a couple people say they have 225, I flat out do not believe they pass the above test for NEVER rubbing.
Since this is on top of sorts here's a list of proper tire size's and width's. ALL REQUIRE OFFSET'S OF 40MM, NEVER LESS. 45MM OFFSET CAN BE REQUIRED WHERE NOTED.
If I don't list the size, it's either to short, to tall or to wide. Sometime's we HAVE to run a short size because we may have made a mistake in picking our rims and ended up with a offset less than 40mm.
