the BEST lowering system?

hey, i have no clue on what is needed to lower my car....i would like to go 2.5 to 3 inches down.(thanks to good roads) so what is the BEST setup for lowering...

yeah i know...but the roads around here are perfect...no potholes or nothing...my only concern is speedbumps...

I have Speed tech 2" but havent put them on yet, the person I bought them from seemed to like them with Koni's in front and Tokico in back. You might wanna enter the name in a search and see if anyone has them or what they think

If you're not afraid to spend about $600.00, a good setup is Tokico Gas Struts and Eibach Sportline Springs. They are an easy install for our cars, but a bit pricy. You really notice the difference though so I think the money was well worth it.

No no no...tokicos are NOT the way to go, unless you use the softest lowering springs made : h&r or neuspeeds (only 1.5 inch drop). Even with that setup, the tokicos are still unable to adequately control the front end though the back end is fine. Also, the sportline springs are not good either as their rear springs rates are incredibly weak. I would very strongly recommend against that setup. It will be wasted money for you.

If you want to go that low, your best bet would be coilovers, or, if you want, you can use the spring springs (2.25 inch drop) with either revalved bilsteins or koni reds (which, as you may/should have noticed, are gone). Whatever you do, you really should get one of those two struts or else your ride will be bouncy and could very easily be scary at the limit, esp. if the road you're on has a few bumps in it that will unsettle the car.

Also consider that once you go below 1.5 inches of lowering you will need to take care of the negative camber. This can be done through either modified 2g (84-87) prelude control arms or through camber kits, which are pretty expensive. The front end will def. need some kind of camber adjustment but you *might* be able to pull off no camber kits in the back.

Lowering cheaply is not the way to go however. The cheapest way to do this, buying all new parts would be about $240 for the tokico struts and another $140 or so for either the neuspeed or h&r springs. This will only get you a 1.5 inch drop, but your camber problems will be negligble. Note, however, that this is not the ideal setup: you should try and get either konis or revalved bilsteins for the front so you have no bounce.

The coilovers are INCREDIBLY stif...you will HAVE to have the good struts then. Seriously, if you're on a tight budget, you should go with the H&R/Tokico setup (konis in the front if you can find them). Either that or save up. but always, always, always : Do it right the first time!!

Try to get either konis or revalved bilstiens for the front (or else it will bounce esp. at freeway speeds when you hit goodsized bumps) but if you're ok with that then yes. It's not a bad setup and handles very well, esp. in comparison to stock. And for springs, either neuspeed or h&rs work fine; they have the same springs rates.

No prob. That's what I'm here for. Do look at getting better front struts though. Do it right the first time; it's waaaay cheaper that way.

yeah they did...try to find a used set if anything or try to pick up a set of revlaved bilstiens<--Those are expensive. Cheapest route is tokicos but you kinda get what you pay for. Like I said, it's kinda bouncy up front.

You can't just use those..you would have to send them back to bilstein to have them revalved so they're stiffer. I know it's kinda spendy but I don't know exact prices.
