Bags last a lot longer than cylinders. Cylinders need to be rebuilt quite often and bags will last forever as long as they don't rub on anything. Semi-trucks wouldn't use them if they wore out.Originally posted by 88fasthatch

But cylinders are the easier option on our cars even though I have seen several Hondas with bags and a separate shock.
hey pearl are u ever on msn or AIM? i would like to pick your brain about this stuff/
i am looking for a setup that is easily adjustable, so i could have (for instance) a stock soft setting for shitty roads or driveways, a normal mode which is dropped pretty low and tight suspension, and the a race mode where its really tight....
is this possible or practicle, and what would i need to pull if off, also what would be the best method of pulling something like that off?
i have looked at www.airbagit.com but honestly its all over my head![]()
There is no way to have the best of both worlds. Cylinder kits are very soft and floaty so they don't handle well at all, fact they are pretty terrible on the freeway. The best option is to find some way to make the airliftcompany.com strut bags work. They are actually a bag over a shortened Tokico strut and will provide the damping that you would need. I have never ridden in a car with these, but I have heard they actually feel pretty stiff and handle well as long as you have an independent air setup (separate valves for each corner.)
These bags are made for a 90-97 accord but I am sure there is some way to make them work with a little bit of fabricating.
