3g about to die!!

well i think my car is about to die. it has a nocking noise coming from the engine. the nock starts when reving from about 2k-4k. it is really loud and i feel like i lost horsepower. the more i drive it the worse it gets. so since i dont have enough money for a swap i am going to get the rebuild kit for it. i found the whole kit for $350.

Does anyone no what it could be that is causing this? i held a screw driver trying to listen and the nock sounds like its coming from the tranny but there is nothing wrong with it, still shifts fine and feels strong. i was wondering if it could be from the end of the engine and just coming through the flywheel. so i will be rebuilding it in a week or to. my brother is a mechanic so we will do it in the garage. any info would be cool. thanks.

btw i only have 138k on the engine.

i think it is your connecting rod berrings.
when they start to go, it is better to rebuild hole engine.

yep sounds like the bearings....I have seen people just drop the pan and repalce them but its a big pain in the ass to do it like that

well for the whole thing (not the head) $350 that comes with pistons, rings, thrust wshrs, rod brngs, main brngs, timing belt and complete gasket set, freeze plugs and oil pump. not bad huh? hope to start in 1-2 weeks

for sure. will take pics all the way through the rebuild. will be nice haveing a fresh engine afterwards. cant wait. the guy also has b20a5's for 600 used. and like 11 or 1400 reman.

wrong motor. it wont fit in the accord.

As for the knocking, thats EXACTLY what happend to mine. I'm pretty sure the oil pump went. It knocked for a couple months before it died all the way. Lucky for me i found a good used motor for 275. woo hoo!! :super: Hope to pick it up this friday if my wallet will allow me.

Will their kit work on the LXi aswell?

http://www.rpmrons.com/Hondakits1.html#2.0 uses the same part# for each engine.

i dont see why it wouldnt they are the same engine.
