NX i am dissapointed in u... the 4g63 is an awesome engine. and they arent that bad unless beat on and not maintained perfectly.

im just suprised that a "car guy" doesnt recognize and appreciate DSMs// they are certainly the best bang for your buck race car.

sorry, but i dont have any love for DSM. I know they can get power, but they're too fragile. Pretty much a personal preference more then anything.

I second that but I'm sticking with a C1, the C5 it just to much of a bitch to wire up.

I want a C1 but they are too much money!.. the swap would be like $5000 and thats if I do all the work myself.

Well I can get a running B18C1 for about $700, but I still need a tranny. It helps to know people.

    So many closed minds...

DSM's have not had timing belt problems for nearly a decade lol. And if you use genuine Mitsu OEM parts, there wont be any need for concern. Their biggest problem is most people replace the belts with Gates, which have a long track record of stretching. If you want something other than OEM Mitsu (omg, $15 more is too much), they recommend Dayco, one of the best belt manufacturers in the first place. They tend to sell their belts to big name companies such as Toda, who then up the price and put their logo on it.

The only serious timing belt issue was on the V6 DOHC Mitsu motor, but as we all know, DSM's were not equipped with V6's. Only 3G Eclipses and the 3000GT series (as far as Mitsu).
