    Exclamation 4th HEAD

    hehe.. i hope the subliminal messaging worked...

    my friend needs his valve cover gastget replaced. the 3g is easy cause its 3 bolts and its off....no tourqueing or anything needed.
    however on the 4th gen head the spark plugs are chillan right there.....i was thinking about doing it for him and saving him some cash...has any one replced the valve cover gasget on a 4h gen head? do you have to pull the sparks out? tension tourqing?

    i thought you did have to tourqe the bolts on the 3rd gen

    to 7 ft-lbs i thought

    oops. i just tightened with a socket wrrench till they were tight.

    edit.
    but not super super tight casue then that would make the gasget crap out/.

    don't know the torque spec but no you don't have to pull the plugs out....theres o rings tho that need to be replaced, and the gasket itself...easy shit, 10minute job.

    Yeah what he said.

    The O-rings are gromit's that only the dealer carries, their the seals that go below the bolts that tighten down the cover itself.

    Make sure you use gasket sealant and that you clean all traces of oil off the mating surfaces, the head and the valve cover gasket grove as well.

    I did the job on my wife's 4th gen right before I got rid of the thing.
