Could this be the ultimate sub ?

The reseller of this sub is a company I do a lot business with for my home stereo speaker projects. They sometimes block the original manufacturer of the speakers when they do a buyout of their stock. Anyways, this sub was originally manufactured by Kove Audio. The specs are pretty decent on this thing. I have personally seen this speaker and have to say that weight wise, it has to be one of the heaviest car subs I have ever seen. The build quality is also excellent. Check the rest of their website out too. I don't like most of their car amps but their home stereo speakers are awesome.

It looks outstanding on paper, but wonder how it would sound in competition?

Insane? How about more than 3 times the wattage for the same price?

Could this be the ultimate sub? NO
There are much better available. But for $170 it does not look bad, I would have to hear it to make a decision though.

Oh my bad, I was looking at the List Price on your link. If it is not a piece of junk and actually handles what the specs say it does, then it is a decent piece for the money.

I bought two of these 12's through work for $80 plus shipping each. I have to say I'm mighty pleased with them.

Yea no crap. My last vehicle had a pair of JL 12W1s. They were $120 a piece and kicked ass over any off brand sub. That was the cheap ass JL line. Check the Specs of the new W7 series, that is some serious sound for a serious price.

Eclipse makes one hell of a sub... Their H/U's are amasing as well. With all of that said... they REALLY dish it out with their amps...

Look at the THD on that shit!!!!! They make one of the cleanest sounding amplifiers ever...

This isnt even one of their nicer amps...

i used to hate them because everyone looks at them as a status symbol but now i realize they are ok on their own merits
