    Strut replacement

Ok, The cars rear suspension squeaks really loud. I think it is my struts. Where can I get some new ones. I want them to be pretty good, but I dont want to spend a ton of money. Any help would be great.

Also, is it even the struts that are causin the squeaking, and all of the bouncing and bad cornering. Sorry for all of the questions.

You can edit and add questions to your original post.

It's unlikely the the struts are causing the noise. The struts do dampen out bounce, so new struts would likely improve your ride. How does your car do on the 'bounce' test? Push down hard on each corner of the car a few times to get it bouncing and it should only bounce once more before stopping. More than once and that corner's strut is bad.

Oh, well I know the struts are bad, cause the car bounces all over the place, but what could be making the squeakin noise???

If your car is lowered it might be causing excessive wear on your control arm bushings possibly, but even if it isnt lowered that could be the culprit. It could also be extremely beat ball joints or sway bar bushings.

I thought it was sway bar bushings at first too, but the DX doesn't have a rear sway bar. drknow, have you removed the rear wheels and carefully looked over the rear suspension yet?

Yea it is a good chance that the squeak is from a bushing. My front right of my car squeaks and I have new Koni struts.

Ya my front end squeaks like crazy too. Its the upper control arm bushings that cause that noise. Can buy them new for 40 dollars each at Europarts direct.
