Today edition of Sunday Mechanics (56k)

We'll today was sweet day at the Pick and Pull junk yard! Got up first thing this morning and went to find some intake pipes and a few other things. we got back and went straight to work on the carbuerator

we are replacing it with the air box from the fuel injected 88 civic.

I was sort of hesitant to do this mod because of the damn California smog law, but you don't really change much. and I saved everything incase i need to put it all back.

Then i threw in this MSD ignition coil. My original plan was to use it to make the spark for the flame in the exhaust. and yeah I know everyone thinks its rice, but its old school and i wanna try it. but I couldnt get it to work for whatever reason. think the coil needs too much power to run. so anyway just tossed it in there

last I slapped on some new emblems and plastic peices on the hood and eye lids. mine were cracked and primered

Nice work, I just picked up the same intake. What is the size of the hole you cut? Nice rims too, what type are they? Also is that a speaker next to the emissions box? Sorry for the 20 questions game, Im just curious.

well we made a carboard template for this one, but I dont remember the exact measure ment. i can go look at it later and find out. the rims are Katana's but i dont know what series, and the speaker is for the PA/CB system.

thanks for all the compliments. that kinda sucks nobody likes the H though, cause its kinda THERE. drill holes there so unless i bust out the bonda which I REALLY dont feel like doing anymore, the H's will stay. I bonda all day at the body shop. Yeah i cut a chunk of it out. it makes the top of the hood a lot easier to dent or cave but since i have the hood scoop partially bondo-ed on there it keeps its fairly sturdy. that as I said before was the 86 lip that fell off the first time i put it on. but I came back and fixed that bitch on there. my next plan is still get the exhaust flame and to put that hydrolic hood support in. I saw somebody on here do it once and for the life of me I cant find it. can somebody else find it for me. i would greatly appreciate it!

Are those hood pins functional? Get some pics of how they're installed if they are.

    here it is

OK i finally got under the hood today. i was changing the upper motor mounts. the ones on the torque bar. so I also took those pictures of the hood pins, here they are. nothing special. Just mounted into the upper core support. there is room between the side of the support and the condensor. I took my condensor and ac pump out so there is lots of room!!

hopefully this will give you some idea as to where to drill and mount!
