Yeah, I have always wanted to smoke my tail lights as well. I know that you buy transparent candy apple red to make them red, but is there also a transparent black??? Does anybody know where to get some??? We would both appreciate it

    Thanks y'all

    peace out....

hehe yeah someone should put this in the FAQ, there is a black transparent paint meant for taillights and such called VHT NITE SHADES u should get it at most car places. Use the same directions as painting ur tailights red and it should be fine! mine look good and i used only 1 coat! be sure to prep it good and it will look much better have fun peace! :pimp:

Make sure you go easy with the Niteshades. That stuff is impossible to take off if you spray too much. You can also try VHT window tint spray. It's very light so it's easy to work with.

I got pics but i got to get the roll developed which will be soon, as for taking it off use a 8mm Wrench to take the nuts out from the trunk theres like for i think holding the light on so u got to unbolt it and juss take out the wires and ur done. I washed mine thoroughly with soap and then after it dried kinda scrubbed it with a Green scotch pad to get sort of a glazing effect, it smooths it out and looks incredible after u paint it. I didnt do this kinda prep on my park lights and it didnt turn out as well and i used 4 coats on them! on my tails i used only one and it looks so much better. Good luck and u can pick up a can of it for like 5-10 bucks i know for sure the jap stores will charge more for that :pimp:

I live in Canada... does anyone know any store that would carry this... I don't want to have to get it from a performance shop cause that will cost a lot more...

also what's a green scotch pad?

Check a store like mopac or lordco but i dont think they have em outside BC maybe, hmmm basically a store similar to canadian tire cuz they dont have it, a scotch pad is like those scrubbing pads u use to wash dishes with, not the steel wool or SOS but those green ones....know what i am talking about?

Mine is not gold, but to give you an idea of what it could look like, depending on weather you paint all or just half like I did.

    actually his car is deceased.

and why dont you just toss your tails on the grill. they should smoke pretty nicely then. and dont forget the proper seasonings.

Make sure you cook them up with some wild rice too. At least smoked tails aren't as bad as altezzas.
