    Squeaking?

Sometimes when I drive my car i hear squeaking from the back of the car. When I parked it I went to the rear drivers side wheel and pushed down on the trunk. The noise is coming from somewhere next to the wheel but I dont know what it is, and the only thing that has been replaced are the wheels and tires. So are the shocks or struts too old? Im conpfused on all this stuff. What are the struts shocks, and coilovers?, I thought the coil overs and the shocks are the same.

Well the same thing happened to me. It was the upper balljoint. It is common for them to go out. Since you're in everett, go to the pull a part, and grab the rear upper balljoint. If you dont want to do that, you can get it off ebay for 20 bucks. Search for 86 accord and you should find it in there somewhere.

It was 7.50 for me a few months ago. I had a mechanic install it, because you have to have a press and other things I dont have or know how to do. The whole repair, including the cost of the parts, cost about 70 bucks. That's 7.50 for the part and about 60 for labor.
