Front door speakers are 5.25" while the rear dash is 6.5". You can upgrade to rear 6x9 boxes if you get the boxes out of an Accord SEi 3G. I used 6x9 boxes from a 92 Accord Ex, I had to cut the hole a little bigger and drill new mounting holes in the back dashto fit it. Good idea at replacing the stock stereo, it really blows.

My car took 6.5's in the front doors. Don't buy Wal-Mart stuff unless you have to or it's at least Pioneer. The cheap stuff won't sound as good.

Yeah I did the same thing. Had to do a little metal cutting to make them fit, but it was all good.

I wouldnt even bother with the boxes. They sound just as good without them.

Mine came with 6x9's (cheap dual cone) from the factory. I did not have to do any modification to install the Clarion 2-way 6x9's that I have in there now. I installed them in the stock grill/enclosures.

Really? It must have been the way my 6x9's needed to settle. Either that or you were lucky. Who knows.

The Clarions did not have huge magnets and they had pretty shallow baskets. Another limiting factor I have noticed with the stock enclosures is that some 6x9's that have the thick plastic frames around the edge of their metal frames won't fit under the stock grilles.

Lots of possibilities. I was not going with anything radical so I had no issues.

If you're going to go cheap, go Pioneer. Get their higher end models.... with the 3 way speaker and rubber surround. They sound excellent.

I have Sony Xplodes in the front, 5.25" 3 way. They were $45 at Wal-Mart. Pretty good for cheap. My rear are Polk Audio EX 6x9 3way witch are much better than the Sonys.

I have 6.5's all the way around. In the front I had to cut the little plastic basket a little but it was worth it.
