    why does my car shake when in reverse?

    hey... lately when i go in reverse my whole car like shakes.. like a vibrate.. i think it could be the timiing belt because thats the most recent thing i got replaced.. what do u think?.. thanks...

    If it is a manual it is probably just clutch chatter, but if it's an auto you have got some problems.

    My five speed does that at low speed unless I intentionally burn the clutch. So I just go quick in reverse, problem solved. The sound is really cool too, I love that.

    Mine 5 speed has a real bad ckicking in reverse, but only in revers so I just live with it

    It might be caused by the tranny mount.

    If you have an automatic, chances are it's either a rear motor mount or a tranny mount. If it's only a mount and you can live with it don't worry about it. If you have the money to fix it get it done. My friend had a 90 accord that did that vibrated only in reverse. The mechanic said that it was a rear motor mount. If you can't do it yourself, you're looking at a couple bucks to get it done.

    see my dad bought it to the garage and they said they think its the gear on the timing belt.. maybe? its off? could it be true or they just trying to jip me
