    Toyo Proxes FZ4

I just picked up a set of Toyo Proxes FZ4 205/50 15's for my accord. I had Yokahama T4's before. Then the other day I came across some really bad reviews on 1010tires.com. Most were really happy, but about a quarter of the reviews just slammed the tires for everything from fast wear to weak sidewalls leading to blowouts, and also blistering. Anyone out there have these tires....how were they for you? Thanks

I've had them for about 20k miles...bought them used with about 75% tread and a couple had/have camber wear. They've been great so far, just watch those tire pressures to prevent any problems. Not the stickiest tire, esp. in the wet, but not bad.

Toyo proxies are some good tires. The people who complained must have been verry agressice drivers to have those kind of problems. Any tire that is driven hard will not last too long.
I am looking at a set of Yokoham Avid T4s for $160. How do you like them?

I have the Toyos on my Accord and Yokohama on my TL. Both have been great. I've had many other brands too.

I figured over aggressive driving was the cause. The T4's were good, they only lasted about 40,000km but I drive fairly hard myself, but no auto crossing or anything. I would have got them again, but there were only four in western Canada (in two different cities) for 205/50/15s so I was forced to look for something else. The guys at the tire shop assured me the FZ4's were much beter (larger steel belts, higher speed rating, larger outer tread block) He said the T4 used to be a very good tire, but has fallen behind competition in recent years. I was looking at T4's for 140 installed here in Vancouver, BC. The FZ4's were 155 (on sale at Big O) installed and are supposed to be much better. Hope this all helps
