I would definetly recommend and amp upgrade, new seperate amp for the subs and a nice 4 channel amp for the speakers. What gauge wire are you running to your current amp?

16 is actually pretty thin, if you plan on putting a more powerful amp or more then one amp in you should upgrade to 8 or 4 gauge wire. Most wire will say on it what size it is.

hmm... well Im not a Sony fan when it comes to car audio. I know too many dealers/installers that just hate Sony car audio. I once had a Flip-Down Sony H/U with the blackout LED. It was nice... I really didnt have any problems with it but the Alpine that I have now has much better sound quality. I hope the sony's work out for you. This is just my sugestion but maybe you should try out some Infinity speakers or maybe a RF amp, Audiobahn, ect... Switch it up a little bit just so you can hear different name brands besides sony. Im not trying to rag on your system it's just that my friend was a HUGE Xplod fan until he heard some other brands of amps, speakers, h/u ect... his sony 6x9's are shot now and he is looking for a new h/u.

Yeah Xplod sucks, if you want to go cheap, go for the higher end Pioneers. Sounds fantastic.
