How much should I lower my car??

Hey guyz i need some help on how much I should lower my car. Im choosing between a 2" or a 1" wich one of these two should I do. Im thinking on the 1" at the moment cuz here in Oklahoma there can be some nasty dips and I dont really think a 2" would be that great but then again if your not going through any of those dips (etc) then the 2" would be great. All I need right now is your help. All post's will be appreaciated, thanks.

I know how the roads are in OKC since I was stationed there for 10+years. H&R's would give you a nice 1.5" ish drop I have the susp tech's on mine right now, its advertised as a 2" but it may be more or less. Some of us on the board have been disussing it in PM's and on AIM as far as what you REALLY end up with. Seems like some get more some get less. I'm kinda a fan of the H&R's just because they are the softest of the lowering springs. Its also going to depend on what yopu want to spend to get it done and get it done right. Read the threads on lowered springs before you decide on anything, theres alotta good info in there. You'll also need to consider struts and prices as well as prelude arms or a camber kit depending on how low you go

I just installed the H&R springs and my measured drop came out slightly less than one inch, overall average. I'm not sure if these will settle some more or not.

I am happy with this since it maintains ground clearance for speedbumps, etc... but looks pretty good. My car does not look "lowered" but has a nice balanced look, IMHO.

With Koni fronts and Tokico rears, the handling improvement was dramatic and the ride quality is still good. It's definitely tighter and you feel more of the road, but it's not bouncy or harsh.

For a daily driver on mixed roads, I thinks it's pretty ideal.

P.S. I have pics I'll try to post soon.

Yea that sounds good i was thinking more along the lines of a 1" drop cuz here they have all that good stuff to (speedbumps etc...) and also i kinda wanted it to look more balanced for starters than maybee later i'll get a 2" drop but for now i think i'll get a 1".

I know this guy that has a 90 Accord with 2.5" drop all arounf and man he has got no wheel gap cuz he's got 17" rims as well he tore up one tire cuz a shopping cart rolled into his fender and dented it in less than a 1/4 of an inch so when he turned right it dug into the tire really bad. im either going with the 1 inch drop or the 2"F 1.9"R drop that one might look cool or if i can find a 1.5" drop then i would consider that one. BTW the 2"F 1.9"R is the same price as the 1" drop.

honestly...man dont do a 1" drop... you wont even really notice it... like mike said... do at least 2". That wont put your car too low... trust me. and as far as huge dips in the road.. take em a little slower

Personally, I like the fuctionality of the H&Rs, though they're not quite 2". Something like 1.5". Still nice though. You get a good ride quality and a better looking height. 'Course I'm riding with Konis, which are discontinued, but revalved Bilsteins would also make for a nice ride.

I say if you're worried about bumps, go H&R. If not, get the Ground Control coilovers and lower that biaaatch!!!!!!!

GO at least 1.5" drop. Right now I'm 3.5" and I still manage to avoid hitting shit. I was at 4" drop for a while but I was only a 1" of the ground so I was hitting a lot of crap.

Try a 2" drop. It will not bottom out too much but it still looks nice.

After lots of consideration and pms w/ Jim, I chose to get the H&R 1.5" springs w/ revalved Bilstiens. I like off some rough ass roads in the Santa Cruz mountains (Cali). I want to make the car look agresive but not too low. My other choice was Sprint 2.25"

On another note: My co-worker lowered his 82' Z 4.5" (with lots of other suspn mods) and cannot even go up moderatly steep driveways or speedbumps but he can take "the fishhook" on hwy 1 / 17 transition, a turn that goes from a 40mph to 20mph sharply at 80ish mph (seriously) so I guess its all give and take, and what you are looking for in the looks and performance dept.
