Well, I'm making somewhat of an educated guess here, I'm going to say B20Z, that looks much like my mom's engine in her CR-V, it's intake manifold rises up far above the valve cover like hers, the year says 97/98, the time when CR-V's came out. If the B20A's were in something other than 88-92 Preludes, than it wouldn't be it, Preludes had the H22A and H23 after that date. So I'm going to guess B20Z

Yeah, these are B20zs from Honda CRVs
you can tell its a newer B20 than was in the prelude because of the newer style valve cover. also, look where the dip stick comes out through the heat shield, it was a bit different for the older B20. and then theres the heat shield thats slighly different from the older B20. im shur this would be a good engine to put in a 3gee because they make good performance parts for CR-Vs motors. they are probley easier to find too. unlike some civic engines that are getting hard to find. my friend told me about doing something like that.
Keep it HONDA. Or at least Asian.™

You wouldn't want the first gen CR-V motors. They are only 126 hp and feel gutless. The newer ones are 146 hp and actually feel pretty quick even though they are pushed all-wheel drive and an automatic transmission in mine.
what about a CR-VTEC conversion? like a b20z CRV block with b18c1 VTEC head?
