Get some moly lube and grease the inside lip of that thing. Your best bet is to remove the rocker assembly and slip the seal on instead of banging it into the bore. If you do decide that a piece of pipe and a mallet is your best option, you have to make sure that it's hammered in at a 90 degree angle with the head and be sure the inside lip doesn't turn itself inside out (took me three seals to get my crank bore to stop leaking so don't feel so bad if you don't get it perfect the first time).
thank's for the tips Sabz!
ok...so should i buy another seal or just keep trying with this one (2 weeks old)?
peace!
I'd get a new one. If you've run the engine with the seal not seated properly, there's a good chance that it may have suffered some damage.
Honda should be able to put one in your hands for a good price (and with no overnight shipping)
A few dealers had mine is stock.
