    Custom Kit..

Guys, I have an 87 accord lx, and i am planning to put on the custom bodykit, ie. cutting the top half of the 87 bumper and putting it under the 89 bumper. My dumb question is that will the 89 bumper fit the 87...

oh and how would it look on the stock height... would i have to lower it to make it look good...

    thanx a lot guys

The bumper will fit. Just remember the lower you go, the more your going to scrape.

civic lip versus alabama roads! My car has 4.5in of ground clearance! I like your idea about using an accord bumper! I just happen to have this civic bumper laying around from when my buddy got his bc kit!
    of course its fixed now!

kicker and hostile...... you guys can F*ck off! I dont need a IQ test everytime i TRY to STRESS a point! and just b/c you dont see me putting in 10,000 posts of useless garbage doesnt mean im just some dumb riceboy off the street! And finally, ive never owned a car with less than a 2in drop and im pretty sure i've spent more time fixing front ends than alot of you, hence my 'no shit' post! I must of been in a hurry b/c i meant to attach the above pic to my first post.

Irregardless, I would make the lip, its fun while it lasts! The best part about the accord bumper is NO MAJOR MOLDING!

it fit right on almost perfectly. Of course like any body kit not made specifically for the 3rd gen accord there have to be modifications, but it'll fit with just a little mod. Search around, there are a TON of threads on here about body kits.

imran, make sure you plan out what part of the bumper you plan on using. You want to make a few cuts as possible! It makes for a better front lip than my halfassing! The only other advice i have is ... plan on fliping the bottom piece over so you have an easy way to mount it!

    pm me if your confused

Well for the people that have add an lip what did you use to hold it on, and no I'm not going to use zip ties and have it look cheap.

Your idea for the top half of the bumper on the botton is a good idea i think i could pick one up for less than $50 at a salvage yard and if it looks good wich i think it will considering the way the bumper is formed it will be alot cheaper than a kit custom made to fit a 3gee.

the bottom of any bumper is rolled which makes a nice place for screws! follow? if your butting two bottoms together its perfect!

Well screws will work but I'm thinking that rivits will work best.
