    1990 EX-R Tranni Problem

Accord guys.....I know its a '90 but I need some help and I dont know where to turn other than Honda...who wont tell me anything!!!!

    OK....Its an EX-R with 248 000 kms on it!

It has an auto tranni that SOMETIMES WHEN ITS COLD wont go into reverse. It will hesitate for a while before going into reverse.

ALSO...it keeps the key sometimes when you go to put it in PARK.

    Where do I start looking?

EX-R is canadian i believe (or everywhere else but the US). is it only revers or is it all gears? You may wanna check your tranny fluid.

it could be that your trany is on the way to junk yard.
i would recomend to start looking for another trany right now.

Sounds to me like it *might* be something as simple as your shift handle adjustment. If it is off, then it could cause all of the problems you are having. Just a suggestion other than GET A NEW TRANNY!!! =D

The shift linkage is really easy to adjust. just take off the center console and there are adjuster nuts that you can play with.

Changing the fliud could save or make it worse, its rolling the dice. But its worth it if it helps. You can also try to clean connections on trans itself with electrical cleaner apply to plug ins and blow off with compressed air, theres solinoids that may not be getting a good connection on these automatics, also check your grounds or just clean them with sandpaper and reattach.
