meet from mid-summer, long overdue 56k mebbe

This summer cdscowboy (matt), bobafett (chris), lx-i girl (amber) and myself (alex) got together to swap out my monroe sensacraps for tokicos (nice change, though still not perfect). At the same time, Matt brough his car and we installed H&Rs and konis (i'm also running H&Rs). We met at my dad's house and essentially just used him for his garage and lift After many many hours, we finally finished everything up and everyone was happy (there were a couple cross threaded nuts that caused some panic--nothing an impact wrench couldn't fix ). Anyhow, without further ado:

Matt's car on the lift; chris standing around doing nothing (typical :flipa: )

lazy ass matt taking a nap

    oooooh pretty:

My dad has all his tools and whatnot for his two babies:

1966 Datsun 1600, Race Prepared for SCCA vintage class

1988 Supercharged MR2 with 10k on a rebuilt 4agze bored out .020 over with JE forged pistons, all the bolt-ons, and boosting about 13psi....pretty quick little car D

and here's a pic of my car a couple weeks after the install (out by ankeny hill for you Salem natives):

    enjoy..sorry for so many pics.

    Alex

The paint job cost about $10 or so...rattle can I'm disappointed with it though...it's all dirty cause I didn't put any clear coat over it blah blah blah. But when I can afford to get her painted, it's gonna be the moldings too!!

Oh, and I'm not resting...I'm putting the nuts on the rear strut...what a pain the the arse!!!

I've considered it...but paint = money + time...both of which I have very little of, so orange it stays

    And oh, Alex: psssst...you wish

Neighbors yelling, dogs barking and a sweet car. What else do you need in life.

Yeah he did!! Thank got it wasn't running the open header like he had before...that would have warranted a police complaint for sure. Of course, a 5k rpm, any car is going to be loud, but especially that one. The mr2 is also loud as hell since it's straight piped to a supertrapp muffler. I would hate to be his neighbors. But his cars look so damn cool!

No, he races at PIR (planning a trip up to WA for next season). It's SCCA Road Racing, Vintage class. In VP1 it's all cars smaller than 2 liters...saab sonnets, i think a couple old mgs...he just finished his first season...didn't do great, still got a long way to go...I'm trying to convince him to let me drive .
