    Re: B16 Intake Manifold Question

not sure because i havent tried to put my 'justin' strut bar back on, but i am reasonably sure that the edelbrock manifold is much lower than a stock b16 manifold, and AEBS style manifold. just by looking i am guessing that my strut bar will not fit. but i have not actually verified that by trying to install it.

    correct

the edelbrock victor x mani shoots out almost straight with hardly no upwards curve compared to stock b16 manis.

Add some washers maybe if it's too low... but there are some other even larger custom manifolds out there.

I tried to put a B18B intake manifold on the Accord and the strut bar didn't fit. I reinstalled my Edelbrock.

I sadly discovered that there's no room if you have a stock B16 manifold.

Well, it's been a long time but I finally got the dyno sheet (not my fault )

    Carot's B20A

As you can see, from 5700 to 7000, there's virtually no power gain... but no power loss. This mean this beast is missing some fuel or timing to give more power :p

I like the torque line too.

sounds like you need Apexi SAFC to fine tune your ride.
I think you can pull out more torque between 3000 and 5500 RPM. yuo can see where it dips down a lot, fuel starvation probably. if you look at thegreatdane dyno runs, his engine has the same dip almost at the same RPM.
as far as the top goes, probably need more fuel.
What kind injectors are you running?

Oh, i'm running the a PK2/PH3 ECU with stock injectors. I basicaly have the stock Honda fuel management.

    Time for a OBD1 conversion.

That's funny how the HP will not die. There's supposed to be a peak thenit ill fall back. Now, it's more like a "plateau"

Who said the Edelborck Manifold affected low end torque?

Re: Dynoed: B20A1 with B16A2 intake manifold

hey carotman about time we see some dyno sheets! Sure does look a lot nicer than that ITR graph you posted. I also think there's still something to gain on those last 1500-2000rpm.

I'm getting mine dyno tuned next month if all goes well. We'll be renting a dyno and then 2 Crome experts are going to dial it in. Cant wait to find out if has any balls or not this engine lol. It's still with stock 9.5:1 sissy pistons so if it makes good hp with those, then I'll probably stuff in some JDM B16 type-r or EDM ITR pistons if any of those will fit in there hehe.
But I cant decide if I should hurry up and order a victor x manifold before the dyno tune

if you are going to pay big money for someone to dyno tune it, you should have all the parts installed by that time. You will be waisting money if you let them tune it and install parts, they will affect the tune big time.

Yes, with other pistons it would need a new dyno tune, but that's in the future any way, but just for a new intake manifold I can tune it myself on the street, and I can do simple dyno runs for free, to be able see my gains..

Re: Dynoed: B20A1 with B16A2 intake manifold

make sure you get wideband for better and easier tunning.
some of them come with datalogging which can be usefull on the road tunning.

Converting to OBD1 and some larger injectors will do wonders for you setup carrot. Did u happen to have a airfuel reading for those dynos?? When we had the old computer in our first dyno with the venom injectors it could only muster a high 13/low 14 ratio. This time the first run we ran it was around 11:1 and only put down 150!! Brought it up around mid 13:1 and did some cam timing and it gained another 10hp. I think you engine will enjoy a higher rev limit as well.

Will I really need larger injectors? I know these are 240 but what should I get? H22A injectors maybe?

i'd say get something in the 300s so you have plenty room to expand.

well if you want to push more fuel without overworking your stock injectors i say you need a new ones.
according to accel chart, our accord has 235cfm flow. you can upgrade with Accel to 255cfm.
    http://go.mrgasket.com/pdf/ACCEl_DFi.pdf
you can get accel injectors or as you can see in 97 prelude H22 came with 275 cfm injectors.

I think you should go bigger, you can always tune them down when you conver to OBD1.

Re: Dynoed: B20A1 with B16A2 intake manifold

definately reeached a point where you have all the extra air flow but your not backing it up with the extra fuel. Stock injectors are only really good enough for upto 170bhp flywheel you need to uprate them now Accell ones are bit better but H22 ones would be more of a benefit, but make sure you have them cleaned, blueprinted and balanced first.

Re: Dynoed: B20A1 with B16A2 intake manifold

The B series guys can go around 200hp on stock 240 injectors. You can always try raising the fuel pressure more before you get larger injectors. When you go OBD1 with crome you'll be able to see the percantage used of the injectors, the duty cycle.
