Angry Blew my sub in one day!

Hahahaha... I just got my system installed last week.

I got an alpine 9813 head unit, Audison LRx amp, and an MTX 8000 10" sub. All wired up with monster cable wiring.

Well that MTX lasted 1 whole day untill it was blown. lol. Kinda sad i know... and they say my amp is only 420w RMS @ 4ohms.

So I have now moved on to bigger and better things. A new Xtant X104 was put in the next day. And I love this thing. rated at 500W RMS, and 2000W Peak ... Its just awesome. It already made my trunk rack break.

Next come some Focal speakers, and I am set. :super:

glad you got it warrantied, its a good idea to break in the subs at a mid-volume level for a while before you start to "giv'er"

Yes they are made by the same company, but they obviously have higher build standards on the Xtant, just by looking at them, you can tell they are a much better speaker.

Plus, this is just for now, I plan on getting an Eclipse Ti soon enough.

you arewnt supposse to pump your subs for at least 2 weeks, giving them a break in period. when you buy new subs they are very still and need to be "worn out" before the can handle alot of power and hit hard bass

you guys need to stop wasting your money on stuff thats low end. pay the little extra money and get something good. I went through soo many cheap subs Not cheap but yout expensive. I am now with a boston competitor 15" sub and a kaption 80.2 amp. Can out pound most systems in the gta area and it never skips a beat. I think i paid 600 for all of it. also invest in a fused fuse block. like one that takes the gorged fuses that you screw down. thats makes a worl of a difference and will save your stereo. also make sure u have an amp with protection mode. you shouldnt have blown your sub if you had protection mode

Ya i realize that, I just needed a cheaper sub for a little while, but soon will have either focal, or Eclipse sub or subs.

And I haven't cheaped out on anything else for my system, hell, my amp was hand made in italy... oh yea!

4 words Beyond Audio Inhuman Subs. Would be the best $800.00 I could spend if i had $800.00.

Well, found out that the sub wasnt actually "blown" but the dust cap had almost completely separated from the cone. Either way it was a dud.

But I will see what I am going to do, first I am getting my Focal speakers (for those who don't know, they are THE high end speakers).. and then I will probably get 2 eclipse 10's.

You dont have to spend 1200 to get focal's. You can get some starting at like $450 or so. And that is in Canadian dollars.

But those are the entry componants, and the top of the line alpines can be had for slightly less, and sound just about as good.
