    LX-i hot starting problem

When the interior of the car gets hot, the car won't start. Well, it will, but it takes a long time and a number of tries. Even if the air outside is fairly cool, if the interior soaks in a lot of sun and gets hot, the car takes forever to start.

If it has more than 1/2 tank of fuel, this is not as likely to happen, but it still does.

    Fuel pump relay, maybe?

It sounds like your Main Relay. Check out the site below on it, they have replace/repair information on it... it seems they have problems, mine had the exact same.

EDIT: They also have cool trick to start your car without replacing it, I use it during the summer when it gets warm up here. SImple tap of the screwdriver on the relay, and all's well.

I don't know first hand, but I've read some post here that mention the main relay as a problem when the interior is hot and it's hard to start.

I had the same problem, as a temp fix, when you turn the key on, you'll notice that the check engine light stays on, hit the dash just the the left of the guage cluster, should be good enough to pop that realy, get the fuel pump going, make the check engine light to go off, and get you going!
