    exhaust idea

    um . . . . i had an idea about dual exhaust.
i know when i had my had my other car it'll gain, but that was a v6.
so whould it help our car's too?
i seen the pontiac grand am quad4 with daul's but one muffler was smaller than the other.
even the new sunfire's have dual's, i've seen a civic with daul's too.
what i'll do is have a splitter by the muffler and have like a smaller muffler made too!
    so is it worth it?

get a single in, dual out flowmaster or somthing, then run the dual pipes to the back.. like 2 inch...

dual exhaust look, no real loss in performance

A dual exaughst is more for looks on a 4cylinder. Not really a performance gain. I think it would look interesting though.

    hey . . . . i thouth it would look good.
and to me it's better than having a can two time's the size of my stater.
    but it'll seem cool.
and it'll sound alot more powerful.
i made a cai on the lx (incase it fail's or something)
the engine has more get up, and sound's like it has ball's.

i put dual exhaust on my 88 lxi that i had. the accords have runners underneath the car that the duals can run in. i did notice a power increase and it did sound alot better. any muffler shop that custom bends pipes can make it for ya. I made my own at my shop cause i have an exhaust pipe bender. if ya wanna know more pm me

If it is for looks, then more power to you.

Yeah, it does sound pretty deep. N1 Dual knockoffs would look good...imo. Maybe even a twin fireball setup with 3in. piping. You have to think about the bumper fitment and whether you would need to create an outlet for the other muffler. Also the location for your exhaust hooks and so forth.

If you worry about what everyone says, then you might as well move to a communist driven country so you can be the same as everyone else. Enjoy your choices while you have them.

You realize that only the right side of the rear bumper has the indent for the exhaust tip to come out... thus it'll look stupid if you don't have one on the other side or you have to cut it out yourself and you'll have to weld extra hangers on that side to hold up the muffler and pipes

The more I see dual the more I like but don't get dual mufflers. Get one muffler if you can behind the cat or just replace it. Run 2.25" pipe back to the gas tank then have a T joint and run 2" pipe to each side with a tip on the end. That would be the best way to do it.

Dynomax Super Turbo, flowmaster 60 Series, Magnaflow, take your pic. I just have a glass pack and it gives a much deeper tone then what the flowmaster was giving be. It depends on what you want it to sound like. Maybe a 50 Series but NOT a 40 Series. But I would plan on changing your exhaust more then once. I changed mine 3 times before I finally got what I liked. Next I'm going to try duals.

dual exhaust is so rice!!!!!!!! It is not going to help performance at all on a 4cl engine. I'm siding with the RICE cartoon car on this one.

Well it won't help with performance any more then single pipe exhaust but it is all in how you do it. Even if it might be quote unquote "RICE" if you do it right then it will look good and people won't give you crap. If you can add dual's with out messing with the flow of the car then do it.

then i guess one can say that the pontiac sunfire is rice also.
    cause they have dual's also.
i think what look's rice is the new cavalier that big ass muffler tip but it still make's 140hp.
    it lost 10hp.

It all comes down to how you mod the flow of the car. It is just like adding an aluminum wing to your car, but there is some cars that they have looked good on cause they didn't interupt the flow of the car.

with dual you just have to be careful. not enough back flow and you will lose horsepower. if you can figure out a way for it look natural i think it would look dope. but as far as power i personally would make one fake so as not to loose power, if you have enough mods you probably won't have to worry about it. a buddy of mine had dual exhaust on his 00 civic Si but he had a bunch of mods. when we put the car back to stock and all he had left was header and his dual exhaust, we couldn't get the car past 30 on a 2 mile stretch, and the cat was stinkin up something fearce
worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but gets you nowhere
