Signature Banners

I just wanna find out how to make banners to go in my signature. I'm guessing you guys all slapped various pics together but how do you upload it and what's a decent size?

You make a jpg or gif or what ever compressed image format you want in your favorite editing program, be nice to the 56k people and don't use a bmp. I'm using a 525x137 jpg for mine, I think its a little on the big side but the text gets garbled if its made much smaller. Once you have the pic you upload it to a web server somewhere. If you don't have access to one you'll have to make nice nice to someone that does. Then you go into your profile, find the edit box for your sig and put a vB code img tag referencing the url where your image is. Mine looks like this:
[.img]http://68.81.204.16:3000/images/automotof_sig.jpg[./img]
Which is just a plane old boering picture
You can also do stuff like this:
[.url=www.3geez.com][.img]http://86-89accord.com/3geez/3gzlogo.jpg[./img][./url]
Which would make the banner a clickable link to what ever website you have in the url tag.

**note**
the . in the tags after the first [ is there to keep it from processing them as actual tags, leave them out to make the tag work.
