    Question Head work HP??

Does anybody have a dyno chart for our engines (bone stock or slightly modified i.e. (CAI/Exhaust/Headers) No turbo - Sorry. I just have a few questions that a dyno graph would solve.... Like.

At what RPM does torque curve cross HP curve
    Maximum RPM for peak hp
    Max. RPM for Peak Torque
and finally the slope of the curve.

Here's my reason. If i can get port & polish, double springs, larger valves I can rev to 8K with no problem on a stock bottom end. The ignition/Computer/Fuel system will handle it. Add to this mix Venom injectors (10% flow over stock), fuel pump regulator ( increases voltage to fuel pump so it flows more. I think that 150 - 160 HP is possible with no significant drop in gas mileage or driveability (or passing emissions - strict here in Atlanta)

If i'm wrong tell me now so i don't start spending money. Cause it's still my daily driver.

No dyno chart for me. I had it done once and I do not want to talk about it. It was sad. You should probably add a header, hi flow cat and a reground camshaft to that list.

PM Hostilejava about a dyno of a slightly modded 3g, Intake/Headers/Exhaust. about 2 months before i sold him my car i had it Dynoed and left the paperwork in the car for him... Hey better yet, check out a thread in the marketplace for a ported & polished head for sale by me... It has all you need to get more air into the A20A3 block... The price IM asking will give you an idea of what it will cost to try to achieve the HP numbers you are going for..

Yes you should be able to rev it to 8K but what is the point. your max HP will be at about 6.5K anyway. plus the rev. limiter will kick in at about 6.75K there is not reason to rev so high.
your best deal would be to get turbo setup.

you'll see and increase but I doubt seriously that
    A. you will see an increase of 30-40hp keep in mind that your starting with a base of 120 HP so thats going to be a 25% increase
    B. the stock ecm will keep up. They aren't very user friendly nor very reprogrammable from the talks me and Sean and a few others have had. Like Alex said you are rev limited to 6.75ish or so.

The more we discuss the "pure hp" issues the more it becomes obvious to me that the only real way to do intake, serious cam and other performance mods is to go carb and ditch the computer all together. Unless you want to get with Sean on a custom programmed DIS setup

the carbueratored ones dont have a rev limiter do they? Because i wanted to find out and it keeps on going once it gets to 6,500. My Chevrolet goes to 5500 and it cuts off the gas.

Only the carb has the revlimiter. Just pull it. Stock the peak hp is at 5500RPM. You can do what every you want to head and intake but unless you get a cam that peak hp #'s will stay the same. About redline the power takes a big dive and the only way to get around that is another cam or nitrious.

There's no point, no power up there.

ZERO power. After about 6000 the power starts to dive off and at 6200-6500 it the power band is like a clif straight down. The stock cam does not allow any power up there around red line.
