Is it time for a camber kit?

I went and got my alignment dojne today and this is what they came back with

    left front right front
    caster min -.5 max 1.5 before 1.6 after 1.1 before 1.4 after 1.3
    cambermin -1 max 1 before -2.6after -2.8 before-2.3 after -2.3
    toe min -.13max.13 before .05 after.00 before.15 after .00

    left rear right rear
    cambermin-1.0max 1.0 Before -1.4 after -1.5 before -1.2 after -1.3
    Toe min-.09max .09 before .25 after .00 before .05 after .00

    Front camber difference -.5

Looking at your front after camber specs of -2.6 and -2.3 that to me is the call for a front camber kit. That might mean prelude arms of a aftermarket kit, you decide which way to go. If it were me I'd set the front camber to to match the rear so like -1.2. I believe in some negitive camber for handling sake. The flip side is, negitive camber does effect avaliable traction off the line. But here with you currently running in the 2's in the front camber wise you'll pick up some launch traction if you dial that back to the -1.2 I'm recommending. Negitive in the two range isn't going to kill you in the short term, I just wouldn't drive around long term.

    Hope that helps,

    Jim C.

Hey, at least your car got aligned, my car almost got stuck on the alignment rack yesterday.

Well it would have been better for him to of asked for help from anyone, not just me. His question is one that come's up all the time and having it answered in public would help others who are maybe running the same setup, never have been to a alignment shop, realize that maybe they need to look into the same thing.

If you don't mind a little more steering effort, increasing the caster will also help. More caster means that you get more camber as the steering is moved farther off-center (during a turn). This way you get the benefits of camber when you can use it and have less static camber for better braking and acceleration when going straight. Mine is set to the maximum right now, a little above 2 degrees. You also want to be sure that you don't have any cross-caster. If the caster is different from side to side the steering can pull one way more than the other.

Jim's advice on camber sounds good. I'm at about -0.8 degree front and rear. Just be sure to keep an eye on how your tires are wearing.
