    Talking F20a

does anyone know if I can swap an F20A (S2000) into my 88LXi because i just blew the head gasket and it's got over215,000 miles on it... I have no idea what engine to swap in just that I want mad power because ever since somebody rear ended my 96 prelude (RHD by the way) i cant find a small car with that kind of power and I'm hungry for it... :smokin:

wow, you are gonna get SOOOO flamed for that question....you really need to search man.

in order to put an s2000 motor in your car you'll have to convert to RWD which will cost you THOUSANDS of $$$$. There are TONS of threads about what you can swap into your car.

READ MY SIG. Spend a couple hours(or days) searching and reading all the info available. if you still have questions, come back and ask em.

    Please make it stop.
The F20A is not in the S2000. Do a search.
Yes that head will fit, you just need an Intera/Civic or CRV engine swapped in first. Do a search.

Do some searching. Damn I had to hold back really hard on this one. Be glad I just had some ganj.

ok the new k20 a is fwd the housing bolts up to the s2000 motor(and yes i did a search that is the engine code) and if nissan guys are swapping out an SR20DET bluebird into a sentra, why not an s2000 motor up to a tranny that the bolt patterns are the same, has more power and a 10000 rpm redline and the motor is sitting in your garge with nothing else to put it in??? for me this is the most economical, because my girlfiend fried the tranny in her RSX and bought a racing tranny so i still have the origional 6spd it just needs syncros so everything is there except the mounts, axles, and electronics (I have thes2000 computer)... so why not???

still high... sounds like a lot of fun but not really practical for me i'm looking for a complete sleeper and have the means to do i just don't know if it will fit, i talked to a guy thats done swaps before and has a machine shop so the mounts aren't a problem now it's axles and electronics thats what i need help with...

Well for a complet sleeper a s2000 would be a great engine. It sounds like you can get a FWD tranny that will work off the K-series. Then like everyone else said $$$$ and custom work. It will probably one of the most expensive motor swap done to a 3G. The biggest problem would be the tranny but it sounds liek you have that solved. Are you a good welder and have access to the tools needed is the second question. Third Q's is do you have them $$$.
I'm your local R&D nut. Fabracting, welding, tuning and breaking my stuff so you don't have to.

other problems you'll have is that that motor is high and you'll have hood problems. You'll have to do a complete re-wiring which will cost you mad $$$$$. Unless you have access to fort knox or your daddy is independantly wealthy, dont bother. If you want a true sleeper, why not go turbo? If you have access to junk yard stuff, i bet you could round up a full turbo kit.......

my motor has 215,###+on it and I don't want to go that route, and besides, I looked at the s2000 motor and it is completely reworked, the hood is no promlem, i am a bodyman by profession, so i'm either gonna have a "shaker" that says v-tech or a cowl induction ghetto style... my dad owns a junk yard, so parts and money shouldn't be a problem, and a friend with wiring experience... just gotta pay him...

Damn you BMS, I knew that. I wanted to see if he was really full of shit or not, because he sounds like he is.
The F20A was from newer Accords than ours. I would put this swap a notch hight than the H22 in difficulty. But I do believe it is possible given he has the time, money, skillz, cash, experience and patience to pull it all off.

I'll try to get some pics up of the stuff i'm talking about and a few pics of an sr20det that me and a couple of my buddies swapped into an 86 sentra... if we can do that i think we can do it to an accord, it just might take a little while, i'll probably just splice the whole s2000 dash and witing into the accord, just to make it easier then i'll figure out the axles and all of that, that's what i did with the sentra, and a 91 sentra tranny fit in with the axles and stuff from the 91 so it shouldn't be too hard, not to mention the s2000 motor is easier to get performance parts for (turbo, etc)

    Lightbulb plan B

no more S2000 motor it's too long now it's the K24 bottom end with the RSX wiring, head and 6spd.. my dad got an element and RSX in at his junkyard so i'm gonna cannibalize the hell out of both... not too difficult, so i'm gonna finish gutting the 3g and put the SEi rear discs that i got from the boneyard and go to town get mismached wheels and all for a true sleeper effect... i'll get pics up when i figure out how to get my digital camera to work... :pimp:

oh, really, I finished gutting the 3g last night and dragged the RSX into the garage to meet it's doom and my dad alreadt got the element bottom end out so i think i should be done by spring since there's nothing else to do during these wonderful pennsylvania winters and i picked up a chevy citation to beat the shit out of to and from school (yes i am going to WyoTech) so during the 10 or more hours a day that i have unoccupied i can work on probably the most difficult swap ever attempted and probably the best yet... we'll have to see when i'm finished.
