I'm Kinda Getting Scared

I'm starting to....almost like my Honda

Its kinda fun to cart around in, like a little go cart, it moves alright for a 90hp carbed car, good gas mileage. If it was in a little better shape I might keep it around, but I don't want to put any money into it, so back to SHO's.

I almost just want to take it for a drive right now, I must be getting sick , this will probably change once I drive the SHO agian though :lol

I must say with the mileage i put on the 3 Accord coupes i have had they have been very good to me. I had some issues with my 2nd coupe but thats because i was getting the shaft from a bad repair shop. Im thinking about getting another Lxi coupe if i dont get a newer car as a daily driver. I worked for a large dealership chain and i couldnt believe how many trannys/engines they replaced ever week at ford. And my girlfriends escort had cost her family a lot to keep it on the road. But i do know some people that swear by them and have had minimal problems.

This is the first NON-Ford I've owned, its been good so far, I put quite a few miles on already, only been driving it a week or two though...

For some of the offers I've been getting versus the money to fix it up, I think I'll be able to bear it!

It may stay around till next summer though as I will need something to drive when I have two SHO's ripped apart. Plus the A/C works in the Honda (it does in the SHO also) but thats nice for a summer car even if it is a beater!

Come on Miltown.... just imagine how great this lil 3g would be should you sink some cash into an EFI conversion and have 120 ponies driving you around.... throw in a turbo or if you desire, an engine swap... I could even help you, being somewhat of a gearhead.

How much faster are they with EFI? I can't see myself ever spending money to swap that engine in, if I was gonna do it, it would be something more worth while, you guys will probably kill me for this but I was thinking if it would fit, rebuilding and dropping my spare 3.0 from my 92 in it. The thing would FLY!

See my 92 SHO is getting a 3.2 from the 93 SHO I'm getting so I will have an extra SHO motor laying around...

What is so special about the SHO's. I have seen them and I would rather own a.... well almost anything. I'm not tying to burn on you for owning a SHO but they are so ugly. I guess you like them for the performance.

My Accord is the one thing that I can love, and it will always love me back. It doesn't complain if you are too rough with it, and it is cheaper to fix if you do screw something up. It won't break up with me, I am in complete control of this relationship. There is no reason not to love your 3g. Not only does it have great endurance, but to make it happy all you have to do is use it.

I could get into a huge debate and write a book, but I'm not gonna. I'm gonna ask the same question "what's so special about a 3g?"

I like them for many reasons, the unique engine, sleeper fact, gas mileage, luxury, etc.

Get a ride in one or drive one especially a stick shift one, and you will understand.

For what it's worth here's a picture of both of them lined up when I first got the Honda, in looks my SHO wins HANDS down, IMHO. Sorry the picture looks like crap, it was taken when it was kinda dark and the computer didn't enhance it to well.



But this is what makes a SHO so special

My A20A3 can hold it owns against some of the newer cars and really out-accelerates most cars on I-94 in 3rd gear


Hey man, if you can fit the 3.0L in there, go ahead... I'll even help you there too.

And why to fit them in, cause the Yamaha v6 pushes some good hp and the v8 makes a good sleeper out of it... and I hate ford ever since I owned my taurus.

Fuel injection doesnt really give you hp, but the intake and headers that accompany the package do. If your car runs fine with the carb in cold weather, consider yourself lucky, b/c most old cars with carbs run like poo when its cold outside. After driving my 75 malibu for about a year and then switching to the accord it was amazing, sure, to me it feels like it has about the power of the mower, but when you take it around corners it is amazing. But if my car wasnt a manual I really doubt I would feel this way mainly b/c thats the only thing that keeps me up at night while driving. It is no sleeper like the SHO but thats what a weekend car is for me. My malibu is far from a sleeper but it still holds its ground against most cars. I think the accord is a great daily beater, mine has 155K on it and I drive it fourty minutes a day up mountains and the only prob. is that it leaks a quart of oil per 3000mi. But I believe the valve cover gasket will help this. I vote you keep the accord for a daily go-kart, put limited use insurance on the SHO, save tons of money on gas and insurance and your still able to drive the SHO when you arent the accord. This is just my opinion but you should at least think it over a bit.

The Accord runs great in cold weather, I was worried that it wouldn't but I haven't had any problems yet, then agian it hasn't been really cold out yet.

If my Accord wasn't manual I most definately wouldnt keep it and your right it helps keep you away late at night. If works fine for a beater, but it needs some work, mainly whats making me mad is the leaking sunroof on a day like today (its been raining all last night and today), there was also water on the floor, so I don't know what that's about, I think it needs tires also after driving in on the wet roads. I guess that's two things, not to bad, but still I don't want to put a cent into it. I'm trying to save to get my 93 SHO for winter instead.

What you proposed is a great idea, but I don't drive my 92 SHO in winter anyhow, I may buy another Accord, a fuel injected one for a daily beater (as long as its stick) to get around in. Just not to keen on dumping money into this one. Although I did get a killer deal on the Accord I have now, and its rare!
