    WTB: Old School Rockford Amp

Looking for a "brick style" rockford amp

im looking for a punch 200a2

    i want something with 100w x 2 @ 4 ohms

    My punch 55.2 died

if you have a real good equivalent, then post and let me know

I really dont like to mix and match amps, i have a 400a4 that i totally love powering my components, but i need a sub amp sometime soon

im not looking to go over 100, since these are old rockfords, but let me know what you got

    wally

well those are great amps the 800 version called a 4080 pushed about 1600 watts at 1 ohm, these amps are great, while yours will push hard, it's not what i need seeing my subs are only 100 rms each, i dont need excessive power, put it on ebay, you will make a score

this really isnt the purpose of this thread but ok

    lets say you got a 2 x 30 at 4 ohms
but its probly underrated, so say 2 x 50
then lets bridge them, so now we're at 100 at 4 ohms
lets push a 2 ohm sub, so now we're at 200 watts
then if it can handle it, down to 1 ohm and youve got a 400 watt amp

i dont really need an amp like this

ANYONE WITH A 100 X 2 AT 4 OHMS GIVE ME SOME INFO

im a crack head. says right here.

    Dynamic power: 2 x 45 Watts into 2 Ohms
    RMS power: 2 x 30 Watts into 2 Ohms

so if i hook up 2, 1 ohm subs bridged ill pull 100 watts? thats still under powering them at 50 watts each. or 100 watts if i got them hooked up together....

its not a big amp by any means... even 350 watts RMS is peanutz... my bud has a 420 watt RMS mono block that is sooo damn loud, but no overly loud

BTW.. i built that box and wired the whole system... i think i want to become a part time installer

you dont need crazy power to have hard hitting bass, i was running a punch 55.2 on two rfz 2412 rockfords, and thqats only 30 WATTS PER CHANNEL, its about a 300 dollar setup and i was happy, they hit real hard and make my car shake all i want, yeah i bet a 1000 watt 2 ohm dvc 15" sub is insane, ive heard some great MMATS and juggernauts, but i dont have that kind of cash, my economy system sounds great, a big amp and big power requires a big wallett, im in college, enuf said
