    Dilema!

I have $500+ in the bank right now. I have a friend that will hook up the rest of my system (subs, amps and install) for around $400. There lays the problem. Should I save my next/next two checks and get some wheels, or should I complete the system?
    Thanks,

    -Jon

I'd say go for the wheels
With a bit of homework you should be able to wire in your own system($0)

400 from a friend to hook up you system????? Don't sound like a good friend! That is more than shops charge......Do some reading and hook it up yourself and spend that money on some rims!

Are there any members in your area that would help you? Or go to another board HT or any other board and ask for some help....

yeah, go for the rims... as stated above, a little homework, and you'll be able to hook up your own system for free.

fo sho... id do rims over subs anyday, but thats my opinion. 400 is way too much, unless hes getting you the amp and subs and installing them, but even then id be hesitent. RIMS!

I think he means buying the amps and subs and installing them.
And that's a very tough decision. I love my rims and couldn't live without them, but also same goes for my system. You can't compete with the bump in the trunk, but I also think my car is ugly without rims. I get a lot more looks and respect when I have rims on my car.

I would go system because something incomplete is so dissatsifying. Then you can start from scratch with the rims.

No no no! I'm not giving him $400 for just labor, its all the components AND labor.

Even with the homework, I know nothing about cars/car audio. My stepdad helped me put a house sub in my trunk. I took the wires to the rear speaker through the sub. So, I have an 8 in my trunk.

    Thanks for the advice.

then you should list what parts you are getting and then we can take the 400 into consideration.

$500 in the bank is great. If you spend it on your system, what happens when an emergency happens or your car breaks and you don't have the money to pay for the repair? It's better to have an emergency cushion in the bank to fall back on. Keep your money in the bank and save your next 2 checks for the work. I'd rather have the money to fix the car if it breaks than have a car with a great system that I can't drive. My 02 cents.

I haven't talked to him in a while and I forget the parts. I'm pretty sure they were two Crossfire 10's. I forget the amp all together. About the cushion, I agree, 'cept it's burning a hole in my pocket.
