    F$%&ing CURB, I slammed into a curb! something's F'd

I smacked a curb this morning pulling into work. Turning left into work and went wide, my pass front tire caught the curb hard and stayed on the ground, didn't go over the curb. Something is deffinately fucked! steering is rough, pulls really hard to which ever direction I steer. Feels like the passsenger front tire is turned inward. took the wheel off and don't see anyting obvious but was wondering what you guys thought, could it be the pinch fork? I'll probably go to the JY and get a complete passenger suspension, steering knuckle and all.

    Thanks for the help..

edit: Yes I know the axle needs replacing.... it's on my to do list, can't get the nut off!

Put the front of the suspension in the air and try tilting the wheel in and out and see what moves. To me I think it would be a ball joint prob and maybe a bent tie rod. Possibly it did something to the rack, but lets hope not. I dont think it is the pinch fork or knucke though, I think it would be the upper control arm fist since that is alot thinner of a steel then everything else. Replace the very wet half shaft while your under there. (hopefully that is why it is so wet.

Yeah, I'd say chances are you may have bent a tie-rod. Like danronian said, put it up in the air and see if it moves back and forth. If the tie-rod is bad, it could cause the wheel to shimmy back and forth. And if it goes completely, then you'll probably have your passenger wheel pointing inward as if its turning left and the driver's wheel still going straight.

    Ouch!
Take a good look at the lower control arm as well, it could be dented. I would be cautious about the axle as well. You could also have bent the rim, or at least threw it out of alignment. The most likely thing is a ball joint or tie rod though, if you replace them do it to both sides!

Last time I hit a curb (and only time) was when I was drifting in the snow.....

the front X member that holds the steeringbox and engine was bend.. not fun.

I'll replace that thing soon.. I have a slight positive camber

Oh yea bent tie rod, that is why the wheel is turned in towards the tie rod. At least it will be a easy and cheap fix.

still haven;t had a chance to get into it to see what the problem is, I'm buying a parts car from a friend of mine and prolly just ong to replace everything on the passenger side just to be safe, and will compare the parts while I have them out to see what is bent.

I had my car looked at and they said it was the lower control arm. Basically it was bent.

BTW does yours make any squeeking sound now?

squeeking? when it's moving, that's from the tires pointing toward eachother.

I got a parts car for $50, I'll be diving into mine hopefully this weekend. then I'll part out the other and sell the parts I don't use!

Mine squeeks when I about to come to a complete stop and when I am about to take off. I also noticed when I rock the car from side to side.
