    Angry Damn

    WELL I'M FOR ONE PISSED.
    why i'm n a nowin situation.
well my pass. side upper ball joint is screwed. i can hear it rattle when i hit bump's.
and i jacked it up and moved it.
it can easily move in and out but not alot.
but it does'nt move back and forth, i'm glad.
but the city is talking about booting my car if i don't pay this ticket.
1 was for when they towed my car, the other was when i was at a family gatering on the 4th of july AND I WAS PARKED RIGHT TOO!

so i'm gonna put it in the garage so they won't tow it , i only have enough money for either a ball joint, or to pay the ticket.
    until dec 10th.

I'd try disputing the ticket first, get witnesses (hey, they're all family ) if not pay the damn ticket or they can actually start to suspend your license which will cost much more
then go for the balljoint or wait for christmas for some of those folks to hook you up w/ some $$

Just don't drive around w/ it, if anything go to the junkyard and pull a decent one for like $15

Try to fight the ticket to see if you can delay paying or get a lot of it reduced. How much is the ticket by the way?

the junk yard said it's $35 if it has an upper control arm.
    the tickets price:
the one on 4th of july = $60
when they towed it : $100
my dad had alot more and i did'nt think they would be on me like this.
come to think of it . . . .when my dad went to get my plate's filled out he wanted to save money so that where he went.
they've been on my ass since.
they threatned to suspened my licinse and plate's if i did get there insurance or have proof when i did that twice.
so i drove over there to show them proof.
and they where like oohhh we did recieve your mail.

What does that sound like when it goes out? I have some noises from my pass side also when I go over rough road, but I always assumed that it was just loose plastic flopping around under the bumper (a bunch of screws are missing on the plastic lining the wheel well)

When you're on the freeway (rough freeway) there will be quite a bit of noise from the front end. Also if you make wild turns, slam on the brakes, hit bumps etc.

But is it a clunk, or a rumble, or a pop or what? My car makes noise but it almost sounds like a coffee maker while it's brewing, you know that kinda rumbly noise that a coffe maker makes while it's brewing?

You can't tell for sure unless you have it checked out. Start simple if you're doing it yourself.

When my lower ball joints were bad, they never made noise. Just steering wheel wobble. When the uppers were, I could hear a lot of noise on the freeway and interesting pops and clunks when braking and turning with my driving.

And it can be anything. For instance, my "pop" (now, since everything is replaced) is from inner tie rod ends.

it sounds like muffled metal-to-metal contact.
to test it just jack it up on that side.
push the top of the wheel to see if it move's.
    that's how loose mines is.
