Please bow to the master Connecting Rods and prices and where to buy

this eagle Rod is a direct fit into the A20A engine. theo nly chnage required to use it is the wrist pins needs to be enlarged to a 21mm wrist pin from a 19mm wrist pin. Diamond pistons will accomodate this change heres the eagle part number

CRS5394a3d Eagle rods. according to eagle the lowest priced place to get them is importparts.com

    $369 a set

So a machine shop needs to do the work to enlarge the wrist pin? which would cost an extra $100 or so at least.

SEAN - what kind of power do you expect the motor to be pushing out before it REALLY needs rods and pistons? I'd like to boost, but it'll be a while before i can afford the new pistons and connecting rods. You've been running on bone stock internals for a while so i imagine it wont be super necessary until we get crazy high boost going through it. Right?

    eek! very nice

Sean I need some advice from you. I have a set of 10:1 JE's. Do you think that I should use them and get the wrist pins modified to fit these rods? Or should I get some lower compression Diamond pistons? I think it might be cheaper to go with the Diamond's because the cost of machining and the new wrist pins it could get pretty expensive. Please let me know what you think.

hmm id find somebody doing a N/A build up and sell the pistons. or a low boost motor. the diamonds are fairly inexspensive and come ready to put in. they also have been informed of the 19 and 21mm wrist pin varietys of rods we will be dealing with.the price does not change for either wrist pin size. also the 21mm wrist pins are tappered wall tool steel. good stuff.

With all this talk of beefing up the internals, will the rod bearings need to be addressed as well or do you think they will hold up?

Well from what I read many times is that is it perfectly ok and sometime better to use the Honda bearings insdead of paying more for aftermarket.
