    Cheap strut bar

Ok I have a strut bar that fits 92-00 civics and 94-01 tegs. It is the right length to fit on my car, but the bolt holes don't line up very well. Has anyone done this mod before? Is there a place where i can just buy the ends to bolt up to the shock towers or how can I mod the current ones?

I tried that one once, You could modify the ends I guess, but I heard you can take the ends off a strut bar from a 94-97 Accord and rejrill one hole and it will line up...

But I'd say just buy the DC Sports bar, it bolts right up and clears the intake manifold and intake perfectly...

Well it's so close... and there's no way I would pay that much for the DC Sports bar. The teg bar I have now clears the manifold and intake fine. Close... but it works. I just need to figure out how to get the ends to bolt on. Is there a place where I can just buy the ends off a 94-97 accord?

The stock carb setup doesn't leave enough space between the air filter assembly and the hood to fit a strut tower bar.

Yeah, your screwed, DC is the only company that mkaes them now, and there only for 88-89 efi's, but the are a good investment, and they do a good job, plus it's DCX and you know its quality, not like APC or something flimsey...

Oh... You can buy them on line from DC I think, our just try Nopi, they rape you, but you can still order them online, I think Nopi sells them for $180, or I can give you the number of a shop in Oregon who sells them for $150, and I think you can buy it by phone from them and they'll send it to you... I don't know I could be wrong though...

Thats not what Frankenstein parts are, those are called conversions- Frankenstein refers to mixing parts like the strut bar were talking about, and it also refers to motors, such as heads and transmissions...

    All done

OK everybody, I did it! All I had to do to get the bar to fit was drill one extra hole on each side, and bend a couple things out of the way. I also had to bend the ends of the bars a bit. I noticed a great difference in handling, probably just as good as the expensive DC Sports bar. I recommend this to everyone: buy the cheap strut bar off of eBay for $30 and mod it to fit instead of spending $150 or more on the DC sports one. It took me about 30 mins to get it to fit on with the drilling and bending, but when you consider all the money I saved, it was like I made $240 and hour! ($120 difference*1/2 hour of work). Good luck to everyone who does this!

Feels like a baby's butt... j/k it feels awesome. I can corner faster now and it seems that I have a bit less body roll. This strut bar in addition to my Tokicos make my handling kick ass!

That is pretty sweet. I will have to check out ebay for the strut bar. Next you need to work on one for the back.
