    Question starter...any opinions?

I've been having starting issues for quite some time now. I got the main relay replaced a while back, and it helped for a while. Anyways, I went to Honda today and had a tech look at it. He said my starter was bad. So I had him run a price check...something like $250 installed, $193 for the starter itself. I thought that seemed a bit high, so I looked on nopi and it's sayin like $90 for a Bosch starter. Is the Bosch one worse, or is Honda just trying to rape me?

Also, how hard is it to install a starter? It'd be nice to save the money.

    Thanks

hmm well if you can just replace the motorl... the motor is on the long 2 bolts. and then you have the gear box part that is held to the trans with like 3 bolts i think. I know the motors from autos and manuals can swap into eachothers gear bodies... cause I've done it before.

I don't think bosch will be a bad starter. Are you sure part of the price isn't some kinda warranty?

There is two bolts and two wires. I can have it done in 10mins. I don't see how Honda can try to charge you $60 in labor when it might take 30 mins if they milked there time.

I've done the motor before (the two ~8-9" bolts)...got it from a j/y to see if that helped...took me about 15 mins as well. Didn't of course. Is the starter/motor all one piece on our cars?

And no, I don't know if that includes a warranty. If it does, that better be one DAMN FINE warranty!!! :lol

There is the motor and the base. Get the one off NOPI and you won't have any problem figuring it out.
