Getting coils for X-mas need info on a ?

Alright here it is. Im getting adjustable coil overs for christmas. and my mom wants to have someone put them on. I wanna put them on myself with a help of my moms boyfriend whos has experince with cars. Do you think my mom should take it to the shop and get them put in.. or have myself do them?

Umm, just make sure you have all the tools required. If you dont i wouldnt recommend you doing it. You have a good possibility of screwing something up.

You're not going to run coilovers with stock dampers are you?

an air compressor would help out a lot although it isnt absolutely neccesary.

you will need some metric sockets, a spring compressor (most likely), WD-40, somebody strong who can loosen tight bolts

A damper absorbs vibrations and stops things from oscillating. The shocks or struts on a car act to dampen out the car body's motion so the tires stay on the road and the you don't continue to bounce after hitting a bump or doing anything else that might upset your suspension. Dampers play a huge role in determing how your car will ride and handle. Don't be surprised if you're not satisified with how your car bounces and floats after you install the coilovers.

i always hear this, i know only one person who has after market struts with his coilovers. i've had coilovers for like 3 years now with stock struts and never a single problem. only problem i have had is cv joints going out but im pretty sure a camber kit will solve that. and accordarizona, i personally would go with the coilovers but i like to beable to adjust my drop. especially the difference from when i have my stock tires on to when i put my 17's on. i like the appearance of just a little wheel tuck, which i wouldn't beable to accomplish with lowering springs. just my two cents
worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but gets you nowhere
